Facilities

Elm Grove Living Centre sits unobtrusively in a neighbourhood of Victorian-era homes. All accommodations are comfortably appointed, and all rooms, including ward and semi-private, have en suite bathrooms. Residents may, if they wish, bring their own furnishings, within safety guidelines.

Residents and their families enjoy access to our beautiful, private garden, sporting a full gazebo, surrounded by many mature trees and greenery.

Our main dining room is bright and spacious and is located adjacent to the kitchen in which all meals are prepared under the supervision of a qualified Dietitian. Choices are provided for each meal, with care given to any special dietary needs.

Residents enjoy our beautiful 3rd floor Solarium where they may choosetodine, or take part in one of the many activities offered throughout the day.

The home upgraded its HVAC and air conditioning system as mandated by the Government of Ontario updated regulations under the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007. The residents are enjoying a well-functioning HVAC and air conditioning which is maintained at a comfortable level for everyone inside the building.

Programs

Elm Grove provides a wide range of therapeutic activation programs that meet the emotional, physical, spiritual, intellectual and social needs of each resident.

We strive to make the adjustment period as smooth as possible by encouraging residents to exercise choice in decision making, and encouraging and maintaining contacts with the community through outings, and utilizing community support services and programs such as ARCHWAY and P.A.C.E.

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE PROGRAM

Elm Grove Living Centre has established and maintains an emergency preparedness and response program to ensure the safety of residents, staff, volunteers, and visitors in the event of an internal or external emergency. The home's manual contains all the details of the response program to any form of emergency or disaster.

The primary concern under any extraordinary circumstances is the safety and well-being of the residents and staff. Knowledge of procedures and prompt implementation is essential to provide the necessary protection for those in our care. All employees must read and be familiar with the Emergency Plan.

Continuous Quality Improvement

The home's Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Committee under the leadership of the Executive Director and in collaboration with the Director of Care and Resident Quality Supervisor will work with different stakeholders such as the Resident and Family Councils, the family members, the team members, and other external care in developing and implementing processes and procedures that promote quality and safe care to all our residents. The home will ensure that resident care services and the quality of accommodation are consistently monitored, analyzed, and evaluated
